Three Brands. One Riviera Maya Wedding Team

Photography. Elopements. Local knowledge.

Getting married in the Riviera Maya can be an incredible experience — but planning a destination wedding in Mexico from another country can also feel overwhelming.

Where should you get married?
Which location is right for you?
How does the weather affect your day?
When is the best light for photographs?
What type of ceremony should you choose?

Over the years, working with couples from all over the world, we realized that there was much more we could offer than photography alone.

That’s how PhotostudioAB, Elopement Riviera Maya and MXELOP came together.

Three different projects.

One local experience.

One goal: to make getting married in the Riviera Maya easier, more personal and more enjoyable.

Why We Created Them

After more than 15 years working with destination weddings in the Riviera Maya, we noticed something.

Couples don’t only need beautiful photographs.

They need reliable local information, honest advice and people who understand how weddings actually work here.

A destination wedding is different from getting married at home.

You’re dealing with a different country, different locations, different weather, different logistics and often a completely different way of planning an event.

Our three projects were created to address different parts of that journey.

Discover Mexico. Understand your options.

Before planning a wedding, you need information.

MXELOP was created as a guide and resource for couples considering an elopement or intimate wedding in Mexico.

It explores the places, experiences and practical decisions that can shape your celebration.

From beaches and cenotes to resorts and private venues, from symbolic ceremonies to legal weddings, MXELOP helps couples understand what is actually possible.

MXELOP helps you discover:

  • Elopement locations in Mexico
  • Riviera Maya beaches and cenotes
  • Resort and private venue options
  • Symbolic and legal ceremonies
  • Mayan ceremonies
  • Weather and seasonal considerations
  • Sargassum and beach conditions
  • Photography and videography
  • Planning and logistics
  • Practical advice for getting married in Mexico

Plan your celebration.

Once you know what you want, the next step is making it happen.

Elopement Riviera Maya is our specialized project for couples looking for an elopement or small wedding in the Riviera Maya.

Instead of trying to coordinate everything from another country, couples can work with a local team that understands the area and the people involved.

From finding the right location to coordinating the ceremony, photography, video, flowers, beauty services and transportation, we help bring the different elements together.

We can help with:

  • Elopements
  • Small weddings
  • Private beach ceremonies
  • Cenote weddings
  • Jungle celebrations
  • Resort weddings
  • Mayan ceremonies
  • Symbolic ceremonies
  • Legal ceremonies
  • Photography and videography
  • Local suppliers and coordination

The idea is simple:

You shouldn’t have to become a wedding planner to get married in Mexico.

Capture your story

This is where everything comes together through photography and film.

PhotostudioAB is our wedding photography and videography brand, created from years of experience documenting destination weddings throughout the Riviera Maya.

Our approach combines documentary storytelling with an editorial eye.

We want you to look back at your photographs and remember not only what everything looked like, but what it felt like to be there.

We photograph:

  • Destination weddings
  • Elopements
  • Small weddings
  • Resort weddings
  • Beach weddings
  • Cenote weddings
  • Jungle ceremonies
  • Mayan ceremonies

Our role isn’t to turn your wedding into a photo shoot.

We guide you when necessary, step back when the moment takes over, and use our knowledge of the Riviera Maya to make the most of the light, location and atmosphere.

Meet Alessandro

The experience behind the three projects.

All three projects grew from the same experience: working with international couples and destination weddings in the Riviera Maya for more than 15 years.

Alessandro Banchelli, founder of PhotostudioAB, has been living and working in Mexico since 2008 and has built his professional experience around photography, destination weddings and the local wedding industry.

Over the years, one thing became increasingly clear:

The better you understand the place, the better you can serve the couple.

That’s why these projects go beyond photography.

They are different ways of sharing the experience, knowledge and network we’ve built in the Riviera Maya.

Why Work With a Local Team?

Because Riviera Maya isn’t just a backdrop.

Beautiful photographs can be created almost anywhere.

But knowing when and where to create them is different.

We’ve spent years working throughout the Riviera Maya and understand how the environment affects a wedding day.

We know that the light changes dramatically throughout the day.

We know that weather can change quickly.

We know that a location can look completely different at sunrise, midday and sunset.

We know how long it takes to move between locations.

And we know that plans sometimes change.

That local experience allows us to make decisions quickly and calmly when necessary.

You’re not just hiring a photographer.

You’re working with people who understand the place where your wedding is happening.
